The CSU Alumni Association gives several scholarships awarded on an academic year beginning Fall semester. Alumni returning to CSU for another degree, a former CSU student re-entering and current students are invited to learn more about the criteria and scholarships available. To qualify, a student must complete the form by May 15 to be eligible for the next academic year. This application can be used for multiple Alumni Association scholarships. Undergraduate Scholarships

Charles R. Eason Alumni Book Scholarship


  • Scholarships are awarded to applicants on the basis of academic potential and financial need or alternates for the Alumni Scholarships and Roy Tanner Scholarship.
  • Scholarship recipients are selected by the Alumni Scholarship Committee.
  • The number of scholarships awarded annually will depend on the spending allocation of the endowed scholarship fund.
  • Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher to qualify for the scholarship.

Awards: Educational expenses up to $500 per academic year ($250 per semester).

Roy Tanner Alumni Scholarship


  • The recipient must be an adult re-entry student, according to the university's definition of adult re-entry (a student returning to college five or more years after graduation from high school). The recipient need not be in the adult re-entry program.
  • Selection of the recipient will be based on financial need and academic potential. 
  • Applicants must have completed the equivalent of 30 semester hours of college study, with at least the equivalent of nine hours completed at Columbus State University.
  • The recipient must take nine or more hours per semester for each semester that the scholarship is paid.

Awards: Educational expenses up to $800 per academic year ($400 per semester).

Undergraduate scholarships are renewable upon re-application if funds are available. To qualify for scholarship renewal, the student must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and complete the scholarship application each year.

Graduate ScholarshipS

CSU Alumni Scholarship


  • Applicants must have completed an associate, bachelors or master's degree at Columbus State University.
  • Applicants must be active donors to the CSU Fund.
  • Applicants must be admitted to a degree program, enrolled and have a 3.0 GPA.
  • Applicants must complete an application form.

Awards: Selection of the recipient will be based on financial need and academic potential. The scholarship will be for $1,500 to be applied to the recipient's tuition and fees each semester over one academic year. Semesters enrolled are not required to be consecutive. Should funds not be expended during the academic year, an extension of one additional semester may be granted to the recipient upon written request. The amount awarded each semester will be $375 for students enrolled in three hours of classes, or $750 for students enrolled in six or more hours of classes.

The CSU Alumni Scholarship is renewable upon re-application, with renewal based on financial need, academic progress and fund availability. Each recipient is limited to a maximum lifetime Alumni Scholarship award of $3,000.
